  • PUNTA ARENAS AIRPORT OBTAINS INCLUSIVE CHILE STAMP

    The airport Carlos Ibañez del Campo, of Punta Arenas, received the Inclusive Chile Stamp in the Public Spaces category, after completing with the required admissions and accessibility with regards to: accounting for nearby accessible parking spaces, accessible entryways, clear interior routes, which are sufficiently broad and free of obstacles and also providing accessible office space and hygiene services, amongst other characteristics.

     

    The distinction was delivered at the airport by the representative of the Social Development Program, Claudia Barrientos, and the regional director of the national disability service (Senadis), Milena Yancovich, to the Ministry of Public Works, represented by the national director of Airports, Boris Olguin, representative of Public Works, Ricardo Haro, and the regional director, Jose Luis Hernandez, also participating in the concession activities of the Carlos Ibañez del Campo Airport.

     

    “That today we can deliver this inclusive seal in terms of accessibility to the airport, is fundamental to build a more just, equitable and inclusive society,” stated the Social Development representative.

     

    Yancovich, for her part, stated that “we are working for strategic development that allows for the social inclusion of disabled people,” outlining that this seal is in recognition that the State of Chile delivers through Senadis, to companies or public and/or private institutions which provide positive internal actions towards the inclusion of disabled peoples, in terms of job inclusion and accessibility.

     

    Obtaining this seal was highly valued by the authorities of the Ministry of Public Works, emphasizing the national director of airports, the joint work that is unfolding with the Ministry of Social Development, Senadis and the airport concession.

     

    “We are very satisfied, and our objective is to continue incorporating an inclusive culture in all of the airport infrastructures of the country, generating greater security and spaces,” stated Olguin.

     

    Yesterday the national director participated in the preliminary draft presentation of the Carlos Ibañez del Campo airport, which had in attendance the deputy, Juan Morano, regional councilors, government representatives, General Directorate of Civil Aviation (DGAC), Military, comptroller, social development, Senadis, police, national goods and the air force, amongst other institutions.

     

    Olguin also participated in the opening of the economic offer for  the project to replace the SSEI barracks of the aerodrome Lieutenant Marsh at Antartica.

     

    The objective of this project is to equip the airport  with a building that focuses all the human resources and materials that permit her functioning according to the standards and requirements established in the convention on the International Civil Aviation Organization (OACI), of which the Chile State is a signatory.

     

    The projected units will provide the airport  with the category of rescue and fire extinguishing, according to the aerial operations that are carried out there.
